Well I went last night, I thought that this was a personal training session. I walked in and to my surprise there were 2 other ladies there. OK I am very self-conscience and well I paid for personal training, thinking it was 1 on 1 attention, not 2 other people watching my every move...or how much of a weakling I am on these big machines...*sigh*
Well I managed through it, the one girl was actually nice...but at the end of it I had mentioned it to the lady taking us around that I was surprised that paid personal training sessions were not 1 on 1 here. She was like OH NO this is just an orientation...well good I guess, I was about to complain and ask for my money back...but then the thing that sucked is she thought they weren't booking trainers til March...not cool. I want to get my schedules and routines all worked out, not to mention that it would be like 2 months and if they did do any weighing or measurements it wouldn't reflect MAYBE what I may have already lost...wishful thinking...but true non-the-less.
So the orientation gal directed me to the Fitness Manager (not sure why, as I was told she would be calling clients with available spots, but I went anyways), and she was a prize let me tell you, probably the least friendly person I have yet to meet there. Typical though she is in customer service...and she sucks at it. But alas I have my 3 personal trainer sessions booked, and starting this Friday...I am hoping that the girl I got is really good...mostly in the sense of NICE! Cause I was not expecting to get in so soon...I mean she was going to recommend the lady there that night that seemed nice, but she was booked for a while...I did ask if all the trainers were well qualified..and she said they do need a minimum to train, but no one but her has a level 3...funny as she doesn't do training just books the other girls...that was the end of the conversation, I took my piece of paper and left. I guess I can try her out and if I don't like her I can ask for someone else.
So now I am sitting here wondering if I should go in today and start with the weight training....we have gotten alot of snow since last night, and my husband called to say the only highway into Airdrie is closed right now due to an injury accident....Maybe I will stay home...I just don't want to get into the rut, and not go at all....

Day 8 ~ Monday
So today is my 1st Personal Training day...I meet "Ellen" at 5pm...I wanted it earlier but hubby has a busy day today and can't be home any sooner.
I can't wait to get going some more on my progress, I feel like crap for not really doing anything over the weekend and feel a little like I don't want to go....but I know once I do I will be back on track!
Plus...Aunt Flo decided this afternoon was a great time to stop by...my hormones are all over the place....*sigh*
Just a few more minutes til I leave and come back a better person!

Day 5 - 7
So off to Edmonton Friday afternoon, no gym today...I did however go up and down the stairs a bazillion times I swear with laundry and getting things packed.
Saturday I went to West Edmonton Mall, and wondered around there for a few hours...that has to exercise in itself. Thought I would see if I could find a good sports bra...my sister mentioned lululemon...so in we go as I have never been and thought they should have something in there.
Sure for a price and much to my dismay I spent a good portion of the time trying to get OUT of the top I managed to get on...there was no one interested in helping me. I did find one with a BRA in it
that seemed ok in the end...but I am not to sold on it, so for now I will leave the tags on.
I can only stand the mall for a while so I dropped my sister off early afternoon and went back to my hubby and kids.
But I was feeling like I needed to get some fresh air, so when I got back I went for a fast walk, little jog, fast walk session, just to clean my head.
Sunday we had brunch with MY family on the way out of town, arrived home around 3:30pm, and back to the grind.

Day 4 Thursday...
So I am sure that i didn't stretch enough yesterday...Obviously!!
I can hardly move, the stairs...I don't think so!
So today we are just going to walk it out...
So after some work and dentist appt's in the morning, of to the gym we go.
I kept it fairly easy today as I could hardly move...lol...
So I kept a brisk walk on the treadmill for an hour, with random inclines, so that I was actually accomplishing something....I hope.
And then off we go...home to get dinner started...but we're feeling good!!
Now just to keep at it...a little worried i will fall out of the groove as we are about to go to Edmonton for the weekend....but positive thinking!!

Day 3 Wednesday
So Wednesday morning, I am up at the crack of dawn because I am actually excited to go to the class, to get the ball rolling. I send my son off to school at 7:45am....and then feed my little one and get myself ready to leave at about 8:30. As the time to leave approaches i start to feelthe anxiety coming on....i just breathe and think it's the 1st day and then I'll be fine, the first day is always the hardest....
I don't feel like eating but know that if i don't I will wither away...lol
I peel myself a big fat juicy orange fill a big bottle with water and off we go....eating in the car, then I get a text message from my hubby....it says You're going to do GREAT! It was enough...enough to make me realize that I CAN do this, and like it....eventually... :)
I arrive, get myself all changed...and I walk myself to the other side of the gym to the studio where I am welcomed by a mat and weights waiting there with my name on them. The girl the night before said she would love to make me as comfy as possible, so she had set everything up for me that morning, so that I was ready to go....she even joined the class right next to me. So Sweet!
So we get started at 9:30...the lady was awesome so energetic, and full of laughs, of course when she asks if we have any newbies, it is only I who's hand goes up...lol
So for the next hour I will experience pain like I have never felt....in a long time...and exhilaration that I made it through...barely.
My muscles were doing the shimmy and shake probably about 20-25 mins into the class, but I just did the best I could and took a break whenever I needed, the instructor was good to keep an eye and help if I needed it, whether it be my stance or balance...or shall I say lack there of. So I made it though the class, and went home.
I was starving....for the rest of the day it felt like I was not eating enough...but mostly I was just trying to make sure I was drinking enough water.
My legs and butt were sore.....VERY sore, especially by the night.
No pain no gain...back to the gym tomorrow...

Day 2
Well today after a much needed few days of tears and miserableness...I sucked it up and made the call to ACTUALLY go to the gym for my free 5 day pass/orientation to this potential gym, so we could get things started. To my surprise the gal there was really nice, and the facility seems....perfect, lots of mommies, and friendly staff...I mean I went for my free pass with absolutely no intention of signing up, I am not compulsive that way, especially with contracts...but after listening to her talk and being show around....I figured yup this this is it! :) So I have no committed myself to 2 years and paid a bit more 2 have a personal trainer for 3 - 1hour sessions to help me get started.
So here it goes...tomorrow morning 10:30...my fit exercise class...wish me luck!
P.S. I even got a cute new shirt and tote-bag from the gym for signing up so I don't have to worry about what to wear...hahaha

Day 1 continued...
So no I didn't go to the gym today...I have been peaking in on peoples stories by reading their blogs. I have been going from one blog list to another and somehow came across one in particular that I know I was supposed to find, I could just feel it. Reading this story has just reiterated why it is I am making some much needed changes in my life and my families...life is just to damn short to sit back and wait for things to just happen.
I want to take a moment to thank all of those who have posted your stories to share, I genuinely appreciate being a part of it, even if it is just though reading and posting kind works to one another. The world is a funny place, you DO get out what YOU put into it.

Day 1
Well it's February 16th today, and I could be going to get my 5 day trail membership that I called about yesterday. But am finding I would much rather stay here, it's REALLY cold outside...maybe tomorrow...although doubtful. I have hurdled this "just go" numerous times, I am sure after a few times it will get easier. I mean really I have done it once before...This is pathetic, internal dialog..I mean really I am sure it's hard to get going for most people, why do I think I am so special....probably because my biggest fear in life is rejection....*Sigh*

To be all that I can be...
Well first off I must give a huge thank you to Jenn (jesube) for sharing the story of her dad and now this marathon she is about to embark on. It has really hit home for me, as well as inspired me to the point of wanting to get off my a**.
My family has a history of cancer, and personally I have had a scare of my own. I have lots of trouble with my GI, terrible anxiety as well as asthma. My my husband is a huge advocate for what being physically active/going to the gym and working out can do for a person...on so many levels. And has been on my case to "try" for years.
Yes, I am a mom of 2 and have had my share of chasing them around, but now they are a bit older and I am finding that I am doing less and less that is physically challenging. I know there is some activity in a daily routine, but not enough. And to add to it my husband and I opened our own company this last year and I am finding I sit ALOT in from of my computer.
I want to change things...I do, I am finding I am not feeling fullfilled in my life and I should be I have accomplished alot, some big some small.
I feel that this is the best place for me to start this change. Ever since I hung myself out there on Cmom's not to long ago, I fell I belong somewhere..for the 1st time. I think I could really benefit from journaling on here, and maybe even help someone else. There is power in numbers...right?
"GoodGirl" posted a thread today asking if we feel we have failed by not having a career. It got me thinking...As long as I can remember I have wanted to be a nurse, and I had every intention of doing it. But honestly we have had so many things change the road for us that it hasn't happened...yet! I will do it someday, even if I am 70 years old and don't have my own teeth anymore, I will do it!
With that being said as parents we make sure that we feed our kids the best we can, take care of them the best we are able, their well being is first and foremost...but tell me this, why do we not take that care of ourselves...or if you do why do we feel so guilty about it?
I must confess going to the gym does not excite me at all, but I think it is what I need...I have an elliptical trainer staring me in the face everyday/allday and I have yet to use it. I can find 100 other things to do, but how can I honestly think I could be a great nurse and take care of yet more people and not do that for myself.
So here I am asking for the love and support of my fellow mommies to cheer me on & help me keep going...I called a gym today to try it out to see if this is "the one"...and I will keep trying til I find one that fits. Fortunately Airdire is growing so much there are a few choices, so that it won't be required to drive all the way to Calgary.
Phew!! That was alot...thank you for reading...
